The picture on the right is an example of the first generation offspring. They are open mated and considered a hybrid. All of our select line are hived and proven brood producers before they are sold. Every queen we produce is tracked and documented to provide you with the best queens. G2 Cordovan Queens
I make a limited run of G2 Cordovans. They produce an above average amount of brood. Colonies are typically very large and are great for building a workforce. They produce a lot of honey due to their large population. They are gentle, calm on the comb, good wax builders, and Midwest hardy. They have a low tendency to swarm. It does require weekly inspections to stay ahead of their ability to brood and collect nectar. This line is suggested for advanced beekeepers who perform regular inspection and are accustomed to very large colonies. These queens are very large and typically weight is 250-300mg.
